I am not Malay!

Indeed I am not. I am Sino Kadazan by heart and birth certificate prove that. Why so sudden talk about this race thingy? Well, It was during Kenegaraan. We were discussing about Malaysia, Perlembagaan, Melayu, Cina, India, DAP?? Hahaha... Dr Azuki really know how to tackle us the topic. making it not sound so radical, serious and racist. But, I do am offended when he says ' Sabah Sarawak tak tahu macamana nak merdeka sendiri sebab tu mereka join Tanah melayu'. Well, maybe because of at that time there are no high educated Sabahans whom have their degree from England but that doesn't mean we don't know how to gain independent. Technically speaking, it was like saying that Sabahan and Sarawakians are stupid ppl. Pffffft.

Then he reveals the fact that DAP doesn't belong to Chinese people. At first, Me too thought that DAP is a chinese politics party but actually the founder of DAP was in fact a Malay, Dr.Syed Husin Al-Attas and Dr. Lim Chong Eu. A brother to Syed Naquib Al Attas and cousins to our dear PM and Hishamuddin. Hmmm.. Enough about politics, I'm talking about I am not Malay coz when my classmates ask me Am I a Malay? I said No and it suprised them. Just because I am Muslim, can speak Malay and look like one you can straightly labelled me as one. (Kalau di High School pula kena labelleds as Bajau. Orang dusun tak boleh Islam dan pakai tudung ka ah??? -.-) Well, truth to be told, there are NO MALAY is Sabah. There is in Sarawak which we call Melayu Sarawak  but there's no such thing as Melayu Sabah! There are like 30 ethnics in Sabah and Malay sure not listed one of it. The main ethnic are KadazanDusun, Bajau and Murut.

I am a Sino Kadazan which mean I am a mixed of KadazanDusun and Chinese. My dad is Chinese and my Mom is a Dusun from Tuaran. KadazanDusun are further divided into Kadazan from Penampang and Papar, Lotud, Rungus and etc. All of them are differ in terms of their customs and practises but share the same languages. My Mom and me and my whole family are Dusun Lotud or Suang Lotud.  The Lotuds are famous for our colourful costumes and dance called Sumayau or Mongigol Tuaran.

This is just saying that dear peeps, I am not Malay. I am a Sino Kadazan. Suang Lotud by root and by heart! And I'm proud of it! Wanna see me in baju dusun? Come to my wedding lah! Hahaha,, kalau mahu tunggu saya menang unduk Ngadau macam mustahil seja tu. LOL

There's a statement,
'I am a Malaysian by papers and land, but a Sabahan all through my veins'

PS I Love you: Support 1Malaysia bah! kan?

Yours Truly,

Maureen: Yup. I just want makes thing clear that there are other races besides M,C,I in Msia. Some just seems to forget that. And Just because I am a Muslim, wear Hijab, Speak Malay and practices some Malay custom doesnt indicate me a Malay. Don't you think its easy to be a malay? According to Perlembagaan, A Malay: Muslim, can speak Malay, Practice Malay customes.
