MPPUMK'S ACADEMIC AND ENTREPRENEURIAL DELEGATION TO BEIJING

Ever heard a hadith saying, 'seek knowledge even as far as China'?  That's the theme for MPPUMK globalization program held last 4th-12th December. Now, I am proudly to say, I'd successfully handled my first international prgram! Wee~ This maybe the very final project I handled as an ex-co of academic and globalization. I had learned a lot! in terms of effective leadership, program management and most of all, time management!

As I whined in my previous post, networking and great communication is a must in order for any project to succeed.  And early preparation helped too! Thanks to UMK for the budget and Al-Safwa for accommodation, transport and the trips to beautiful places across Beijing.

4th December

Depart from Sultan Ismail Petra Airport at 10.10 pm.
Overnight at LCCT, waiting for our flight to Tianjin the next day at 8.30 am .
My bro pick me up coz i got some stuff to take at home. Pity my friends had to spend the night at LCCT. It's cold they said. I am grateful to have families here in peninsular.

5th Dcember

Depart to Tianjin airport at 8.30 am. I'm feeling rather not in the mood than excited after my sis and BIL left me. It's a long 5 or 6 hours flight. Kinda long compared to my 2 hours and 30 minutes to Sabah. Here are the list of things to do during a long flight;

1. Sleep
2. Read books
3. Kacau orang
4. Eat
5. Kacau orang
6.  Play BINGO
7. Watch movies ( if you got laptop)

That's what i've done just to kill time.

P/s: Don't kacau anonymous people ya. Just kacau the one you know only. XD

Arrived at Tianjin Airport and the first thing that greeted me when I arrived was a wind chill and a pretty dull view of  leaf-less tree. It took almost 2 hours from Tianjin to Beijing. I slept along the journey and woken up by the voices of admiration. Waaa Wuuuu Weee haha,, Beijing's Building was awesome. It's very very tall and decorated with beautiful neon light together with animation as well! Truly a metropolitan city. Stop by at some local restaurant for dinner and then headed to our hotel for the next 6 days, Ming Du Hotel.

6th December

First morning at Beijing. It was a cold morning for sure. Today was an important day for us. All dressed up formally as we'll be visiting Malaysia Embassy and Malaysian Student Union in Beijing called MSiB. After lunch we'll go straight to Beijing Foreign Studies University. At there, we were entertained by local chinese students from Malay language faculty performing various Malays songs, malay dance and recite a Malay poem. They really do sound like Malay, they even sang Malay song better than Malaysian chinese. They even got their very own Malay name like Maimunah, Noriza, Nordin ang etc.

7th December

Highlight of the day was THE GREAT WALL!! wee~ On the way to Great wall, we stop by at Jade Factory and Crystal Factory.

So many jadee~ If only I got money.. huhuu
The best quality jade will produce sharp and delicate 'ting ting' sound once you hit it.
Also, when you wrapped it with plastic then you light it with fire, it wouldn't burn.
Blood vessel check ups at Burning Cream centre.
I've heard of it's traditional burning cream.. The small one cost around rm60.
-,- still have plenty things to buy.
At crystal factory.
This stone ah, you have to touch it trice.
First one for health,
Second one for wealth,
Third one for love.
Don't believe lah! Kurafat! For fun only.

All the best for your final year! ^_^

10th December

It's shopping day!! We had visited Sunny Market and Hao Qiao if I'm not mistaken. Spend all that YUAN!! HAHAHA. Shopping here in Beijing, you need a good bargaining skill. Here are my tips;

1. Start at the lowest price as possible. Call me crazy but I started my price at 5 yuan. Haha
2. Never accept the first 3-5 price!
3. Deal them with confident. They'll pulled you, you know. and tried very hard to make you buy their stuff.
4. Never show them big money like 100 yuan or so. It shows you got money leh.
5. Don't be mean. Be friendly.
6. Do your homework. Know a lil bit of mandarin help a lot!

Something happened on this day. It's quite an experience for us. The bus left us (kak Zu and me) coz we're late! Hahaha.. Pengajaran untuk kami. Khusyuk sangat shopping sampai tak ingat masa. Thanks to another tourist group that mostly cikgu2 dari Kedah, Malaysian student from BSFUand also to Luqman and Haizat willing to 'save' us. Haha. The group drove us until their restaurant and from there, that Malaysian students help us to take a cab to our hotel. Memang menguji lah. WE survived at Beijing!! wee~

11th December

Saying Goodbye to our tourist guide, Miss Jennifer and her Panda bear. She said to me " I'll gonna remember you for sure. Take care" :))

12th December

Going back to UMK at 7.30 am. :)

Almost every day we will go loitering around the streets near our hotel. There are time we were lost just because we wanted to find a shortcut back to our hotel. It's damn cold and my feet are killing me! And we will have late night supper at the same shop. For me, this is the most unforgettable part of this trip. Spending the very last moments with fellow mpp mates.

 Mutton satay.. yummy
Serious sedap! Tengok lah muka mereka. Hihi
Macam samseng kan?
Serious macam samseng oh! MAFIA nih.

and I will drink this Lulu only. :))
awww,, i miss moments like this.

Bye-Bye Beijing. I asked for unforgettable moment, Allah really granted one. Beijing memories. I'll remember every moments of it for the rest of my life. Thank you Allah for all the opportunities. My advice to you out there, Chances may only knock once, Don't doubt just grabbed it. I'd grabbed it, and look what it have done to me. Just go to where faith takes you.

P/S: It seems that i'd forgotten some day. Haha,, nevermind. Photo's are taken from all sources. Luqman's, Yazid's, UMK's, Hafizudin's and Andi's. Thanks you guys, for bringing camera! hehehe
